# mBTC

mBTC can only be minted by depositing BTC into Babypie. mBTC is a cross-chain wrapped token pegged to BTC on a 1:1 basis and it does not accrue any underlying yield. If you simply hold mBTC in your wallet, you won’t earn rewards. To earn yield, users need to provide liquidity for mBTC in the DeFi ecosystem.
